Christian Crusade Charters Royal Caribbean Ship

Published on: April 17, 2006
PraiseFest Ministries, a volunteer-run evangelistic mission based in Northport, Ala., has chartered Royal Caribbean International's Sovereign of the Seas for a four-night cruise departing May 29 to the Bahamas. "Cruise with a Cause" has been designed to combine a family vacation experience with a faith-based opportunity allowing guests to participate in a mission effort on Grand Bahama Island. The cruise will feature onboard concerts from contemporary Christian music artists, speakers like wrestler Steve Bordon (aka Sting) and Josh McDowell, workshops, and Christian-oriented entertainment. Passengers will have the opportunity to participate in mission work. During this cruise, there will be no onboard gambling and no alcoholic beverages served. Once on Grand Bahama Island, PraiseFest will host a stadium crusade called Bahama Fest 2006 featuring Christian musicians and speakers and will hold assemblies in 33 schools. Trinity Broadcasting Network's JCTV will film the cruise and produce the first reality television series with a Christian focus. The trip is being handled by Seal Beach, Calif.-based Christian Travel Finder, a division of Travel Network Group LLC and a travel agency specializing in group cruise and tour programs for churches and ministry organizations.
