Oasis of the Seas Virtual Expo Sets Online Tradeshow Record
Published on: October 16, 2009
An industry record-setting total of nearly 5,500 travel agent partners, among more than 15,000 registered, joined Royal Caribbean for the Oasis of the Seas Virtual Expo, held on Sept. 29 and 30, 2009. The online exhibition was dedicated to providing the travel agent community a comprehensive overview of the amenities and exciting experiences aboard Oasis of the Seas, Royal Caribbean’s cruise ship to begin service in December 2009. The Oasis of the Seas Virtual Expo is built on the cruise line’s exclusive virtual tradeshow platform, the first to be launched for the cruise industry. Performance Media Group, LLC, parent of TravelPulse.com, helped create the Virtual Travel Events platform that Royal Caribbean used for the Oasis of the Seas Virtual Expo. Travel agents can still register and experience the Oasis of the Seas Virtual Expo, which is currently available on demand through Dec. 31, 2009 at www.royalcaribbeanvirtualexpo.com.
“The Oasis of the Seas Virtual Expo is another example of Royal Caribbean International’s dedication to leverage new and innovative ways to engage our travel agent partners and help them increase sales and grow their business,” said Vicki Freed, senior vice president of sales, trade support and services. “Royal Caribbean is the first company in the cruise industry to launch an exclusive virtual tradeshow platform, which provides an effective and convenient channel for agents to experience our brand and interact with cruise line representatives. We look forward to hosting more virtual expos to offer our valued travel agent partner more opportunities to learn about the latest cruise offerings and trends from the comfort of their home or office.”
The Oasis of the Seas Virtual Expo featured keynote videos from Richard Fain, chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.; Adam Goldstein, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International; Lisa Bauer, senior vice president of hotel operations, and Vicki Freed. The Virtual Expo also offered a library of downloadable materials and brochures to help travel agents market and sell the amazing new ship, six interactive tradeshow booths, and workshops covering a variety of topics from preparing guests to embark on Oasis of the Seas to selling tips to all the delicious onboard dining options. Royal Caribbean subject area experts also were live and on-hand to answer any questions and discuss the ship’s experience in-depth.
“We have received a lot of great feedback from travel agents who attended the Oasis of the Seas’ Virtual Expo,” said Freed. “One travel agent commented that the ‘expo was the next best thing to being there,’ and the ‘virtual event was well thought out and easy to navigate for learning.” For more information, call 800-327-2056 or visit www.cruisingpower.com.
