Air Tahiti Nui Offers "Couples Retreat" Package
Published on: October 19, 2009
The earthly paradise of Bora Bora shines in Universal Pictures’ No. 1 hit comedy “Couples Retreat,” filmed at the luxurious St. Regis Bora Bora Resort. Air Tahiti Nui is launching its “Couples Retreat” vacation package. Currently in theaters, the film stars Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau, Faizon Love, Kristin Davis, Malin Akerman, Kristen Bell, Kali Hawk and Jean Reno -- and Bora Bora, which director Peter Billingsley noted was another character in the film. Set against the turquoise hues of Bora Bora’s spectacular lagoon, the comedy follows four Midwestern couples who embark on a journey to a tropical island resort. While one of the couples is there to work on their marriage, the other three set out to jet ski, spa and enjoy some fun in the sun. They soon discover that participation in the resort’s couples’ therapy is not optional. Suddenly, their group-rate vacation comes at a price. What follows is a hilarious look at real world problems faced by all couples. For more information on the film, visit www.couplesretreatmovie.com.
In addition to its A-list celebrities, the comedy showcases Bora Bora’s magnificent scenery. As Jon Favreau’s character, Joey, says as the four couples arrive in Eden -- an idyllic island resort of overwater bungalows and aqua-blue ocean -- Bora Bora ''looks like a screensaver!'' In real life, Billingsley, who during an interview called shooting in Bora Bora “heaven on earth,” said, “Not only is it beautiful to look at, but the people are friendly, talented and made it very easy to work there.” Couples can follow in Hollywood’s footsteps and enjoy their own Bora Bora retreat at the St. Regis (minus required therapy sessions), with Air Tahiti Nui’s “Couples Retreat” vacation package. Prices the “Couples Retreat” package start at $2,898 per person, double occupancy, and include roundtrip economy air from Los Angeles on Air Tahiti Nui, inter-island flights to Bora Bora, airport transfers, five nights accommodation in an overwater villa at the St. Regis Bora Bora Resort and daily breakfast. Bookings must be made by Nov. 4 for travel Nov. 13 to Dec. 14 and Jan. 12 to March 31. For more information, call 877-824-4846 or visit www.airtahitinui-usa.com.
