Royal Caribbean Floats Out Allure, Sister Ship to Oasis
Published on: November 24, 2009
Royal Caribbean International celebrated the floating out of Allure of the Seas, the sister to the 225,000-ton Oasis of the Seas that just debuted in Fort Lauderdale. Allure of the Seas was moved from dry dock to wet dock on Nov. 21 at the STX Europe shipyard in Turku, Finland. “This is simply a thrilling time for Royal Caribbean,” said Adam Goldstein, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International. “Oasis of the Seas has been welcoming her first guests these past few days, and to think that Allure of the Seas will follow suit in just one short year is just extraordinary.” When it launches in December 2010, Allure of the Seas will boast many similar features and amenities found on Oasis of the Sea, sharing the title of the world’s largest cruise ship. Allure also will feature seven themed neighborhoods -- Central Park, Boardwalk, the Royal Promenade, Pool & Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center, Entertainment Place and Youth Zone.
