Jamaica's Hedonism II, LoveVoodoo Dating Site Reach Out to Agents
Published on: January 4, 2010
Adult dating site www.LoveVoodoo.com and Hedonism II in Negril Jamaica created a new marketing partnership for 2010. LoveVoodoo will market four new events starting next spring: May 1 to 9, LoveVoodooo Loco (a Latin-themed event at www.lovevoodooloco.com) ; June 12 to 19, Big On The Beach (plus-size lifestyle trip at www.bigonthebeach.com) ; July 10 to 17, Colorful Fantasies (an event for people from different backgrounds to meet at www.ColorfulFantasies.com); and Nov. 14 to 21, LoveVoodoo Fest (signature yearly event at www.LovevoodoFest.com) .
LoveVoodoo is marketing these events, but it’s relying on travel agents to sell them. Todd Crawford, one of the owners of LoveVoodoo.com, said, “We have been doing trips to Hedonism II and III for six years, however, our reach is limited due to having to work with a single travel agent. We also felt that the agents would work harder with us if we did not negotiate a commission split with them. Finally, we felt that agents need a ‘product’ to sell other than just the property.”
Crawford claims that their main motivation for marketing these trips is to spread the word about their adult dating site, LoveVoodoo.com. LoveVoodoo provides agents with fliers, web banners, and some nicely done websites to entice consumers to attend the events. Crawford also claims that though most travel agents do not normally deal with these types of events, he has been getting a lot of requests from traditional agents. He feels that due to the down turn in the economy, agents are trying to branch out.
One of the sites, www.bigonthebeach.com, features a “participating agents” link, where all agents are listed. If visitors click on the Bigonthebeach.com banner from a participating agent’s website, they would not see the “participating agents” link. There is also a “rates and bookings” tab that takes visitors directly to a page that the participating agent pre-selected. These types of trips may not be for everyone, but LoveVoodoo.com and Hedonism II just may have a solution for many agents with dwindling sales.
