A new website called VacationRentalsByAuction.com lets visitors bid on available dates on up to 1,000 privately owned vacation homes -- many of which still have open dates for this ski season. This site was created by Resortia LLC -- the largest independent vacation rental agency in the Rockies. Visitors can bid on specific time periods for privately owned vacation homes in 10 of the most popular resort communities, including Vail, Aspen, Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs and Park City. "The Vacation Rentals By Auction service takes some of the top features of proven Internet auction leaders and popular rental advertising portals, and melds them into a satisfying vacation lodging experience at a great value," said Resortia CEO Larry Hoffer. Rates are all-inclusive. Opening minimum bids generally start at about a 40 percent discount, with some discounts exceeding 50 percent. All auctions are "No Reserve," meaning that visitors will win the auction regardless of how low the winning bid is.
