Aeromexico Begins New Codeshare Pact with Avianca
The first phase of the codeshare agreement between Avianca and Aeromexico will allow travelers to connect quickly and efficiently to more cities in Mexico and Colombia. Aeromexico and Avianca began their codeshare agreement, which was announced last March, on June 4. The agreement will increase the connectivity options for travelers of both airlines.
In this first phase of the agreement, travelers from Mexico City to Bogota on Aeromexico flights can connect via code-share with Avianca to Armenia, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, Medellin and Pereira. In turn, travelers arriving with Avianca to Mexico City can connect via codeshare with Aeromexico to Acapulco, Cancun, Guadalajara, Leon, Merida, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta, Tijuana, Veracruz and Villahermosa. The agreement includes the sale of airline tickets between Bogota and Mexico City at any of Aeromexico or Avianca's points of sale.
Aeromexico and Avianca customers can purchase tickets through various sales systems, offices, call centers and travel agencies. A single ticket will be sufficient to travel on several of either airline's routes, which will result in more benefits for travelers: less connection times, elimination of checking in several times and baggage handling.
