African Travel is offering a program designed to accommodate the needs of parents with children with its Southern Africa Through a Child’s Eyes, a 12-day adventure that starts in Victoria Falls. The program is assembled using family-friendly accommodations with kid’s menus, babysitting and activities for all ages.

The program also includes time in Cape Town, with encounters with rescued cheetahs and warm-water penguins. Parents will appreciate a well-deserved break on safari with adult game drives while arrangements are made for the children’s care. Children will be taught to collect pods, feathers and leaves, and how to identify different animal tracks. Fishing and frog safaris and arts and crafts are also part of the program.

Highlights include riding an elephant on a morning bush safari; learning about southern Africa's cultural heritage while mingling with the locals in markets and villages; exploring the Cape Peninsula, from its baboons to penguins, from the comfort of a chauffeured car; petting a rescued cheetah; child-friendly bushwalks and drives by 4-by-4 vehicles with expert guides. The program is priced from $7,865 per adult and $2,840 per child, land only, based on children 6 to 11 years old sharing a triple room with two full-paying adults. Price is valid May 1 through Sept. 30. For more information, call 800-421-8907.
