American Airlines, JAL Open Joint Lounge at Honolulu Airport
American Airlines and Japan Airlines are jointly operating JAL’s Sakura Lounge at Honolulu International Airport. The shared lounge is the airlines’ first joint lounge since gaining antitrust immunity and becoming joint business partners in 2010.
Located on the third level of the overseas terminal, accessible from the central lobby across from the central security checkpoint, the Admirals Club/Sakura Lounge is close to American’s ticket counter, gates and security checkpoint. The 7,000-square-foot lounge is also only steps away from concourse concessions and shopping. It has two computers, free Wi-Fi, massage lounge chairs and a self-service beverage counter.
To celebrate the new cooperative ventures, American is offering a $50 discount on new Admirals Club memberships or $25 off an annual renewal membership when purchased at the Honolulu lounge. The promotion will be valid Nov. 16 through Dec. 31. Individual Admirals Club memberships for new members range from $350 to $500 annually, and AAdvantage miles can also be used to purchase Admirals Club memberships. One-day passes are available for $50, and a 30-day membership -- a new membership option -- is available for $99. One-day and 30-day memberships can be purchased online with a U.S. credit card or at any Admirals Club location. One-day passes can also be purchased at any self-service check-in machine.
