Apple Vacations is operating nonstop charters to Punta Cana and offering three-night packages for Riu Naiboa priced from $889 per person including roundtrip air from Chicago O'Hare, hotel transfers, all meals and drinks, the services of an in-resort Apple representative and taxes and fuel (plus $10 from St. Louis). The charters are operating from nine U.S. cities, including Philadelphia, Chicago, Dallas and Denver. Also available are seven-night all-inclusive packages from $1,121 per person (plus $40 from Baltimore and Cincinnati, or $60 from Cleveland).

Riu Naiboa is located near the entrance to a complex of RIU Hotels and Resorts, a five-minute walk from the beach. The main buffet restaurant, Cohiba, serves three meals buffet style and has a terrace for outside dining. A pool surrounded by gardens has a walkway up to the Buda Bar which serves snacks during the day and at night becomes the Panama specialty steakhouse. The hotel also offers night life at the El Bolero lounge bar.

RIU was founded in Mallorca by the Riu family in 1953 as a small holiday firm and is still owned by the family's third generation. RIU Hotels and Resorts now has more than 100 hotels in 16 countries which receive more than 3.2 million guests a year and provides jobs for 25,000 employees. Apple Vacations provides vacation packages from U.S. departure cities to destinations throughout Mexico, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Central America and Europe, as well as top ski resorts throughout the U.S. and Canada.
