The Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City and the Emmy Award-winning television series “Curtain Call with David Spatz” announced plans for a four-part, reality-based “Boogie Nights” television series on the making of a new nightclub scheduled to open in the spring. The progress of the ultimate ’70s- and ’80s-themed dance club build-out will include interviews with Tropicana President and CEO Tony Rodio, “Boogie Nights” creator Dave Pena and other key executives and “Boogie Nights” staff, and will be filmed during meetings and strategy sessions related to building components, staffing and marketing of the club.

Episodes of the series will also include auditions for the “Boogie Nights” staff of entertainers. The production will also include a time-lapse camera to capture the transformation from casino space to nightclub. From that material, a special four-part series will air on WMGM-NBC40’s “Curtain Call,” hosted by Spatz. Air dates will be announced soon.

The first three episodes of the show will air during the run-up to the club’s debut. The fourth and final episode will cover the opening of the club in either late April or early May. There will also be webisodes on Tropicana’s social media websites and YouTube.com so viewers can monitor the progress of the club.
