At Avalon, we’ve taken a radically different approach to stateroom design. We created our staterooms with an attention to detail river cruising has never seen before. But don’t take our word for it — take a look for yourself, as we’ve compared our Panorama Suites to the typical river cruise cabin.
When we created our Panorama Suites we didn’t start with walls, we started with windows.
And we made them the largest standard windows in river cruising. Floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall views. More than 30% larger than the others. Our giant floor-to-ceiling window is nearly 11’ wide, and it opens almost twice as wide as the industry standard.
A ship bathroom that doesn’t feel like a ship bathroom .
That’s what we set out to create. And with our enlarged shower, marble finishes, premium fixtures, marble tile and L’Occitane® bath products, we think we accomplished just that.
A balcony travelers can actually enjoy.
The average river cruise ship takes space from the stateroom to create a balcony. Our unique Open-AirBalcony allows cruisers to make full use of the balcony experience inany weather condition, in any season,without compromising room space.How’d we do it? We pushed the room all the way out to the edge of the ship. And added a spacious seating and dining area for up to six adults. Then we made the whole wall a window and gave it a giant seven-foot opening.
A bed for those who like to look at a view. Not a wall.
On the average river cruise ship, the view from the bed never changes. Travelers are looking at the same scene throughout their voyage: the wall. We had a better idea. Let’s turn our bed so it faces our giant window. To do that, we angled the wall behind the bed, which resulted in two additional benefits: it opened up the room and created more space, and it opened up the bathroom behind the wall to allow for a more spacious shower and bathroom vanity. More space and a better view. That’s what happens when you pay attention to the details.
