Cruise Lines International Association said more than 4,300 travel agents and agencies have registered to participate in the World’s Largest Cruise Sale that is part of National Cruise Vacation Week (NCVW), Oct. 21 to 27.
NCVW, CLIA’s largest promotion, last year generated $55 million in cruise sales and more than $7 million in commissions for more than 5,000 participating agencies in the U.S. and Canada. Many CLIA-member lines are again offering special incentives for agents, including bonus commissions and free sailings.
CLIA-member agencies may register to host live or online NCVW events, with special offers and support provided by the 25 participating cruise lines. Agents may also register to create their own customized NCVW mini-sites with cruise line promotional videos, special offers and other consumer incentives to cruise, which will be live all October.
The site also provides information about setting up virtual NCVW mini-sites, advice on hosting events, tips for agencies on how to promote their participation, and a selection of marketing and promotional tools and materials, from logos, press release templates and taglines to postcard and flyer templates.
Promotions include up to $13,000 in bonus savings on a luxury cruise, $1,500-per-couple savings on a river cruise in Europe, two-for-one pricing, free airfare, complimentary shore excursions, and up to $500 in shipboard credits. Consumers can visit a special CLIA website to find a CLIA-certified travel agent and NCVW events in their neighborhood. More than 5,000 travel agencies are expected to participate.
Participating CLIA-member cruise lines include AmaWaterways, American Cruise Lines, Avalon Waterways, Azamara Club Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Costa Cruises, Crystal Cruises, Cunard Line, Disney Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Hurtigruten, Louis Cruises, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, Paul Gauguin Cruises, Princess Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, SeaDream Yacht Club, Silversea Cruises, Seabourn Cruise Line, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection and Windstar Cruises.
