CMH Summer Adventures Offers Painting, Photography Workshops
Canadian Mountain Holidays (CHM) will offer painting and photography enthusiasts the opportunity to study with the masters in British Columbia's Bugaboos mountain range, amid some of the most stunning natural scenery in the Americas. From Aug. 5 to 8, guests of CMH Summer Adventures will be able to enroll in a Photography Workshop with John E. Marriott, a wilderness photographer, at the Bugaboo Lodge.
Back at the Bugaboos for the third straight year, Marriott will join guests on their alpine adventures, while instructing the amateur photographer guests on how to capture the best digital images of the area's dramatic wildflowers, framed by the jagged spires and glacial lakes of the Bugaboos range. And after days of activity and photography, guests will join Marriott back at the lodge for gourmet alpine cuisine served family-style, followed by evening discussions about photographic techniques and new technology.
The company will also offer painting workshops with Canadian painters Robert Genn and Liz Wiltzen from Sept. 4 to 7. The assembled artists-in-training will be dropped off by helicopter in remote areas of the Purcell Mountains, along with Genn and Wiltzen, who will be available, upon request, to mentor and give critiques, or just let students explore, get inspired by the landscape and put brush to canvas in solitude. The Photography Workshop is priced from $3,065 in Canadian currency and the Painting Workshop is priced from $3,405 in Canadian currency. Prices are per person double occupancy.
