CruiseOne/Cruises Inc. Mark Anniversaries with New Websites, Promos
Sister travel agent networks Cruise One and Cruises Inc., celebrating their 20th and 30th anniversaries, respectively, this year, unveiled new consumer websites at the cruise3sixty conference in Fort Lauderdale. Led by Dwain Wall, senior vice president and general manager of CruiseOne and Cruises Inc., the companies toasted their success this year with champagne and cake.
“The cruise industry continues showing resiliency, especially in the face of adversity,” Wall said. “With the resurgence of the travel agent receiving national attention, increased capacity with 14 ships hitting the market in 2012, and continued consumer demand, our business is rapidly growing.”
The revamped websites feature new color schemes, the companies’ new logos and real-time supplier promotions so consumers can see the best pricing and amenities such as onboard credits, prepaid gratuities and free shore excursions.
Wall noted the success of the advanced deposit promotion, which fronted $300,000 worth of deposits for consumers earlier this year. “It gave our agents a distinct competitive advantage,” he said. A new anniversary promotion offers onboard credits of up to $225 on 2012 cruises booked April 30 through May 6. The credit is combinable with all cruise line offers, he said.
Wall also said the organizations upgraded its regional training programs last year, which drew 350 agents. Those who participated in the two- and three-day sessions subsequently increased sales by about 15 percent, Wall said.
