Europe Express Reports Increase In Custom Small Group Travel

Europe Express is reporting an increase in bookings for custom-designed small group travel arrangements. For 2012, small groups of eight to 15 travelers now represent 42 percent of the company’s total group travel business, an increase from 2011. Friends and family leisure groups are comprising 38 percent of the company’s small group bookings. Pre- and post-cruise reservations make up an additional 30 percent and student and university groups represent 25 percent of bookings.
The itineraries usually incorporate educational curriculum and often have specific visits and tours planned to go with the course of study. The most popular destinations for small group travel are Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, France and Ireland.
