Geringer Global Travel Offers Tibet Trip with Buddhist Festival
Geringer Global Travel is offering a new 14-day itinerary to Ladakh, a region in the northernmost state of India between the Kunlun mountain range and the Himalayas, during the Hemis Festival, an annual religious festival celebrating the most important figure in the history of Tibetan Buddhism. A departure from June 21 to July 4 is priced from $2,760 per person, double occupancy, including all transportation in India, accommodations, guided sightseeing and most meals.

Highlights include a rafting excursion in the Indus River; a visit to famous Buddhist monasteries, gompas and palaces including Lamayuru Monastery, the oldest monastery in Ladakh; a visit to a local family in Leh to experience a cooking demonstration of a few local recipes followed by dinner; the Hemis Festival, held in the largest monastery in Ladakh; and an optional ride on a two-humped Bactrian camel in Nubra.
