Germany-based Sixt Rent A Car has upgraded its car rental booking app for iPhones, iPads Blackberry devices and Android phones. The Windows Phone 7 Sixt app has been completely revised in order to make booking faster and simpler. In addition, the app has a GPS-based, branch locator function, which pinpoints the location of the nearest Sixt branch, giving the viewer the address, hours of operation, and a map of the quickest route. (Sixt operates on 105 countries worldwide.)

Signing up with MySixt allows clients to manage their Sixt accounts from their Windows Phone 7 devices, which includes adding, canceling and confirming reservations. The new app also provides the option of renting a car using a QR code. After a reservation has been booked, the users receive the QR code that allows for efficient car rental pickup. Upon arrival to a Sixt location, the client presents the QR code for scanning, and the necessary paperwork is completed. The app is available in German, English, French and Spanish.
