GetThere has added new capabilities to its mobile offering, enabling travelers to book new air reservations within company policy and preferences for all carriers in the global distribution systems (GDS). GetThere Mobile now allows travelers to make new hotel and air bookings via their mobile devices including iPhone, Blackberry and Android. That means corporations can serve their travelers when they’re on the road but still keep them in compliance with policy.

GetThere, which is owned by Sabre, continues to invest in delivering new mobile capabilities for corporate travelers, and will introduce additional booking capabilities later this year. According to Sabre’s biannual survey of travelers released in December 2011, business travelers are highly interested in booking travel from their mobile devices. Among business travelers surveyed, 74 percent are highly interested in booking air reservations including seat selection via mobile devices, while 70 percent are highly interested in booking hotel reservations.
