Great Safaris Offers Egypt Travel Security Guarantee, Agent Incentives

June 07, 2011 9:51 PM

Luxury African operator Great Safaris is offering its travelers to Egypt a money-back Security and Satisfaction Guarantee, as well as an incentive program for travel agents booking trips to the country. As African travel experts, Great Safaris said it has seen Egypt’s return to normalcy first hand and remains confident about the safety of travelers in Egypt, which is why it is introducing these special offers.

Dave Herbert, CEO and founder of Glendale, Calif.-based Great Safaris, said that while Egypt’s tourism infrastructure returned to normal months ago and tourists have started to return, there are still lingering questions about the safety of traveling to the country. According to Herbert, “They are asking, ‘Will I be safe? Is Egypt a safe place to visit? As an American traveling abroad, will I be given a warm welcome, and treated to genuine hospitality? Can you assure me that my Egyptian experience will meet -- or exceed -- my expectations?’ The answer to all of these questions is a resounding ‘Yes.’”

Herbert said Great Safaris is so confident that travelers will enjoy their Egyptian experience this year that his company is offering its Security and Satisfaction Guarantee. Under terms of that guarantee, if a guest experiences concerns about his or her personal security and well-being while on a Great Safaris tour and wishes to cancel the remainder of the Egyptian itinerary to return home, the company will fully refund the costs of the trip.

The U.S. Department of State’s latest Egypt travel alert, dated April 28, reported that the situation in Egypt has returned to normal. The U.S. Embassy in Cairo has returned to normal operations, as have all airports in Egypt. Resort areas in Luxor, Aswan and the Red Sea have continued to remain calm. Travelers should continue to be aware of Egypt’s country-wide curfew from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. They also should be sure to have identification and up-to-date travel documents.

Although Great Safaris guarantees that travelers will have an outstanding experience in Egypt, this guarantee ensures that if they wish to return home early the only thing they stand to lose is their time. “This guarantee reflects my confidence that Egypt remains one of the most fascinating and secure exotic destinations for American travelers,” Herbert said. “A journey to Egypt will not only satisfy clients’ expectations, but will create warm and wonderful memories to share with family and friends for many years to come.”

Great Safari’s Egypt Security and Satisfaction Guarantee is valid for the company’s nine-day “Land of the Pharaohs” Classic Level itinerary which includes tours of Cairo, the Great Pyramids, and a five-day Nile river cruise. It also applies to the company’s 15-day “Great Egyptian Discovery” Classic Level package, a fully escorted tour in which a full-time private Egyptologist accompanies guests on land tours of Egyptian archaeological sites and a Nile cruise.

In addition to its Security and Satisfaction Guarantee, and in an effort to further encourage the return of American travelers to Egypt, Great Safaris also is introducing an aggressive incentive program for its travel agent partners. Travel agents who book four of their clients on Great Safari’s “Land of the Pharaohs” Classic Level itinerary can earn a free “Land of the Pharaohs” land package. Those who book seven clients can earn a free Egypt land and air package, while those booking 12 clients can earn a free Egypt land and air package for two. Great Safaris offers a 15 percent commission on the land rate.
