Greaves Brings Back 14-Day Family India Escorted Tour

Greaves will put its 14-day Family India escorted tour program back on its roster for 2013. The tour includes visits to Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Shimla in the Himalayas with luxury accommodations at Oberoi Hotels and Resorts. The tour was named by National Geographic Traveler one of its 50 Tours of a Lifetime in 2008. Highlights of the Family India program include changing of the guards ceremony in New Delhi, visiting a bear rescue sanctuary, camel and elephant rides, village festivals in Rajasthan, the Taj Mahal, riding a train into the mountains, and trekking in the foothills of the Himalayas.

            The program features luxury accommodations at The Oberoi New Delhi, The Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra, The Oberoi Rajvilas in Jaipur, The Oberoi Cecil in Shimla and The Trident, Gurgaon. Transportation is by private air-conditioned vehicles with driver for sightseeing, transfers and excursions on the itinerary. Departures are July 12, Aug. 23, Sept. 5, Oct. 11 and 24, Nov. 7 and 20, Dec. 20 and Jan. 2, 2013.

            The escorted group program is kept to a maximum of 12 guests. The 2012 Family India program is priced from $4,134 per person, double occupancy. Special prices for children are available on request. Prices exclude international roundtrip airfare; domestic India airfare; Indian visa fee; meals, except where noted on the itinerary; and personal items such as telephone, laundry, gratuities, travel insurance and any other charges travelers may choose to make during the trip.
