Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ New Europa 2 Leaves Drydock

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ new Europa 2 has taken to the water for the first time and is beginning the outfitting stage at the STX France shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. The new ship will have 251 all-balcony suites, eight restaurants and a theater. A total of 835 shipyard workers are involved in the construction of the new ship, scheduled for delivery in April. Its 14-day maiden voyage from Hamburg to Lisbon will depart on May 11.
The Europa 2 will be positioned in the luxury segment as a lifestyle-oriented, casual alternative. The Europa 2 will offer a maximum of 516 guests. All suites have a veranda and a minimum size of 301 square feet.
