Insight Vacations unveiled a tour that shows the American south through the lens of the many kinds of music the region produced, including country music, blues, rock ‘n’ roll, rhythm and blues, zydeco and jazz.

Insight’s Gold Luxury Tour, Southern Tastes & Dixie Tunes, includes a live performance at the Grand Ole Opry; a Cajun cooking class; dinner on a pool deck overlooking the Mississippi River; a trip through music history at the Country Music Hall of Fame; a backstage tour of the Ryman Auditorium, where the Grand Ole Opry was staged from 1943 to 1974; a live taping of the country music radio program; a visit to Sun Studios, where the first rock ‘n’ roll records were recorded; a tour of the Gibson Guitar Factory; a visit to Elvis Presley’s Graceland mansion; and a visit to Vicksburg National Military Park, the site of the Civil War battle of the same name.

An optional eight-day voyage on the paddle-wheel steamboat the American Queen is offered as an extension. The trip will embark in New Orleans and cruise the mighty Mississippi to Memphis.

Southern Tastes & Dixie Tunes is priced from $2,975 per person, double occupancy, land only. The optional Mississippi Cruise is priced from $5,874 per person, double occupancy. Bookings paid in full before Aug. 30 save $200 per person.
