Jerusalem’s Israel Museum to Feature Installation by Architect Arad
Israeli architect Ron Arad will present his new multimedia installation work, 720°, at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, Aug. 16 to Sept. 5. The work was commissioned as part of the 2012 Jerusalem Season of Culture festival.
The piece is made up of 5,600 hanging silicon rods projecting 360-degree screenings of films and video artworks. The installation is being housed in the Israel Museum's Isamu Noguchi-designed Billy Rose Art Garden. Visitors to the digital art installation will experience a revolving lineup of video loops created by world-renowned visual artists and accompanied by live music. Local Israeli performance artists and dance troupes will also appear in "pop-up" performances throughout the three-week installation.
