Korean Air to Move to International Terminal at McCarran Airport
Korean Air will move into the new International Terminal 3 at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport on June 27, providing customers with easier customs, immigration and baggage claim since all will be handled in the same terminal. “The terminal is spacious, easy to navigate and provides our customers with many new choices in restaurants, shopping and entertainment,” said John Jackson, the airline's vice president of marketing and sales. “We expect to grow connecting passenger traffic from Western U.S. cities and truly turn Las Vegas into a hub.”
The $2.4 billion terminal adds 14 gates, including seven for international carriers like Korean Air. The 1.9 million-square-foot, three-story building has a ticketing lobby, state-of-the-art baggage claim and security checkpoints on two levels. Korean Air offers the only nonstop flights to Asia from Las Vegas, flying three times per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) using an Airbus 330-200.
