Korean Air will start flying A380s out of Los Angeles International Airport next week. Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will cut the ribbon allowing Korean Air flight 018 to board and depart LAX at 12:30 p.m., Oct. 11. It will be the first A380 flight to Korea from LAX.

Currently, Korean Air is the only airline offering A380 flights to Asia from both Los Angeles and New York. Korean Air’s A380 has only 407 seats – 12 Kosmo First Class suites and 301 Economy Class seats on the first level, with the upstairs featuring 94 lie-flat sleepers spaced six feet apart. The aircraft also features three bars. In addition to the hosted Celestial Bar, there are self-serve bars located in First Class and at the front of Prestige Class.
