Montreal will see new and expanded Air Canada service to key destinations around the world this year.
In addition to a previous announcement that added five new international services to Air Canada's schedule, two more have been revealed.
New flights from Montreal will debut to Bucharest, Romania and Lisbon, Portugal next summer.
"Today's announcement further solidifies Air Canada's position as a leading global carrier," said Benjamin Smith, president, passenger airlines at Air Canada.
"With these new services from Montreal, Air Canada becomes the only North American airline flying to Romania, the largest European market without trans-Atlantic flights, strengthening even further Air Canada's presence in Southeastern Europe," Smith added.
The seasonal Montreal to Bucharest services will be available twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays, beginning on June 7 and ending on October 5. Flights leave Montreal at 5:20 p.m., arriving in Bucharest at 9:15 a.m. the following day.
Return flights depart Bucharest at 11:30 a.m. and land in Montreal at 2:05. The service operates on Tuesdays and Fridays. The service is complemented by flights to Bucharest from Toronto. Flights begin June 7 and cease for the off-season on October 7.
Montreal-Lisbon service will operate more frequently. Flights will be three times per week, running from June 15 to October 27 on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

"Building on Air Canada's current success in the Portuguese market, the new Montreal-Lisbon route solidifies the airline's presence in the summer leisure market from Montreal," said Smith.
Flights depart from Montreal at 8:45 p.m. and land in Lisbon at 8:10 a.m. the following day. Return flights, which operate on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, will leave Lisbon at 9:45 a.m. and arrive in Montreal at 12:10 p.m.
Fares to the new cities are now available for booking at introductory rates. Fares start as low as $899 roundtrip to Bucharest, and flights to Lisbon are just $799 roundtrip.
Air Canada has also expanded service to South America. There will now be year-round service to Lima, Peru, which is set to begin in December. Nonstop flights from Montreal to Casablanca also received an upgrade. The flights will now be Air Canada Airbus A330, with service starting on June 1.
"In addition, enhancements to our year-round services to Casablanca and Lima demonstrate Air Canada's on-going commitment to grow Montreal as an important hub in our global network," Smith added.
"Together, these new and enhanced services will provide customers greater comfort and choice, as well as the ability to conveniently connect onward through our extensive North American and International network."
