Images via TSA Instagram
Like a set of brass Batarang knuckles, the TSA's Instagram account is a wild, crazy and entirely unexpected treasure.
And to think, we thought a TSA agent's day was just about reminding an apathetic queue of people to take off their shoes and dump their water bottles.
It seems there is far more to their schedule than employing that very rare power that is getting adults to take off specific items of clothing.
Now the following images come with a bit of laughter as well as good advice. Little did we know that we could just check our meat cleaver on our next holiday trip.
The only real downside to some of these images is that we hadn't seen TSA's Instagram account earlier:
Eeels:
Please refrain from bringing your creepy marine wildlife onto the plane in the form of a plastic bag.
This is a surefire way to get Samuel L. Jackson tired.
Grenade:
On the should we/shouldn'twe pile we find an inert grenade. TSA explains why you shouldn't: "While this is a humorous novelty item, TSA officers don't know items such as these are inert until explosives detection professionals, along with law enforcement, remove the item from the X-ray tunnel and resolve the alarm. This most likely will cause a closure of our checkpoint and lead to missed and delayed flights. Grenades, inert or otherwise, are prohibited from both carry-on and checked bags."
Small Armory:
It's 2015, people.
Chef:
How else do you open a bag of peanuts?
Stuffed:
No, you can't conceal your gun in three adorable stuffed animals.
Road Flares:
Sometimes you just need flares with your personal carry-on belongings.
Fake Dynamite:
Fake or not, we have to shake our heads at this Wile E. Coyote traveler who thought this would go through without any issue whatsoever.
And that's just a small portion of what TSA has posted. If you want to see a treasure trove of confiscated bullets, knives and many (Many!) inert grenades, we suggest you head on over.
Now please remember that it just doesn't make sense to pack weapons, real or otherwise, in your carry-on luggage.
TSA will catch it and then you will make what is pretty much its Hall of Shame.
