Celebrating Mom at LGA and PHL
Travelers passing through LaGuardia Airport or Philadelphia International Airport in search of last-minute Mother's Day gifts are in luck this year.
Food & Shops at select terminals at the two major airports will offer customers a free gift in exchange for a $100 purchase, airport retail developer MarketPlace Development announced this week. From May 1 through Mother's Day on May 10, eligible customers will receive a crystal and pearl bracelet valued at $45.
Unfortunately, you'll still have to pay for a card and flowers.
Nonetheless, customers looking to snag the free gift have the option of making a one-time purchase or combining their eligible receipts to reach the $100 mark.
Travelers eyeing the offer at New York's LaGuardia Airport will have to stop by Terminal B, where Eddie Bauer and Duty Free Americas will be participating. At Philadelphia International, travelers can cash in at Fire & Ice at either the B/C Connector or Terminal F.
"With Mother's Day right around the corner, our promotion provides a great gift idea for that special 'mom,' while rewarding customers for shopping in our stores." said MarketPlace president Paul McGinn in a statement.
The participating stores will also set up gift tables outside of their entrances. Available items will include things like jewelry, electronics, chocolates and other accessories.
Meanwhile, a Twitter contest is already underway. Beginning on April 27 and running through the conclusion of the offer on Mother's Day, Twitter users who follow either or both of the @shoplaguardia and @PHLfoodandshops accounts and use the hashtag #LoveMom will be eligible to win the bracelet without purchase.
Each of the aforementioned Twitter accounts will select five winners randomly.
