The Washington Nationals are desperate to reverse their postseason fortunes this October, and in an effort to generate some good karma, the National League East champions are rewarding air travelers by teaming with Delta Air Lines to offer complimentary priority boarding.
The Nats announced on Twitter Saturday that passengers flying the Atlanta-based carrier out of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Virginia will receive fan priority boarding so long as they are wearing Nats gear.
"Once you experience the advantages of early boarding, you'll want it every time," Delta's website states. "Secure the best overhead bins for your carry-on bags and have time left over to get settled comfortably."
Air travelers can purchase priority boarding for an additional $15. But as View From The Wing's Gary Leff points out, travelers can purchase Nats gear for half of that amount.
It's unclear how long the promotion will last, but we can only assume it will continue so long as the Nats are still in the hunt for the World Series title this fall.
That said, travelers in the Washington metropolitan area — with the exception of Los Angeles Dodgers fans — should no longer need a reason to climb aboard the Nats bandwagon.
