Delta Instituting 'Go Fridays' In New York

Remember all those times you said you were glad you weren’t from New York?
Now you’ll be wishing you were from New York.
Or at least living there at the moment.
Delta Air Lines is instituting a new promotional riff off the "Summer Fridays" theme called "Go Fridays." The Atlanta-based carrier noted that only 8 percent of New York City workers actually utilize Summer Fridays, and 10 percent actually use the time to catch up on more work.
Delta wasn’t cool with that at all, so on Monday it began a summer-long promotion in which it will find overworked New Yorkers wherever they are and award them with plane tickets, Mets and Yankees tickets, The New York Spectacular at Radio City tickets, and even more incentives in order for workers to be able to send an “out of office” auto-reply on Friday.
Here’s how Delta will find these overachievers:
1) TOILING IN THE OFFICE
Delta will partner with productivity platform Slack to create A Go Fridays “bot,” powered by Growbot, that will launch on the Slack channels of a number of NYC-based companies such as NowThis, Spongecell, and Casper to find overworked New Yorkers in need of a reward. Once the most deserving employees have been identified, their bot will make them an offer they really shouldn’t refuse: Delta flight vouchers, reservations at NYC’s exclusive restaurants, a tour of the Whitney Museum and more.
2) “OVERWORKERS" CAN COME TO DELTA
If Delta doesn’t find those overworked folks, they can still find Delta: New Yorkers can simply tweet to @DeltaNY, Instagram or post to using #DeltaGoFridays and tell them why a Go Friday reward is much-needed.
Running June 27 through the end of the summer, Go Fridays is an extension of Delta’s current marketing campaign, “NY IS GO,” that celebrates New Yorkers’ relentless drive in the pursuit of opportunity.
