TAP Portugal will be the first airline to fly the brand new Airbus A330neo. The first of the more-fuel efficient planes will be delivered late in 2017. TAP has ordered 14 of the neos in all.
A Southwest flight attendant whose story went viral has died of cancer. At the request of longtime Southwest flight attendant LouAnn Alexander’s brother, almost every passenger on a Southwest flight wrote her a note on a napkin. The story went viral on Facebook. Alexander was 58.
In an effort to save money, Malaysia Airlines will bring back some of its older 747-400s for domestic routes. Three of the now-classic planes are in working order, but have been in storage. They will be repainted with the original livery that Malaysia used in the 1970s.
China Southern has announced that its profits more than doubled last year. The Chinese carrier earned the equivalent of more than half-a-billion dollars thanks to rising revenue and significantly lower operating costs.
