A Chinese woman who was too late to board her flight to France earlier this month was turned away at the gate, and in retaliation, slapped an airport worker three times.
According to the Daily Mail, the female passenger, identified as Zhang Dan, arrived at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport on June 1 with her husband and child after the boarding gate for Air France flight AF139 had already been closed.
An employee working at the desk told Zhang to rearrange her itinerary or request a refund for her tickets to Paris, but the passenger began berating the worker and became enraged.
Zhang, who is reportedly 36 years old and a Ph.D. student, lost her temper and walked around the desk to slap the employee three times in the head.

Police arrived at the scene a short time later and arrested Zhang for assaulting the employee. She has been given a 10-day detention by authorities, and an Air France spokesman said the passenger's behavior was unacceptable.

Officials from the French airline are looking into banning Zhang from boarding all future Air France flights, and a formal investigation is being carried out by the public security bureau of the Chinese airport.
The Air France flight Zhang was supposed to be on took off from Wuhan on time at 10:35 a.m. local time and landed in Paris at 4:38 p.m. local time.
