Ethiopian Airlines to Begin LA-Dublin-Addis Flights June 20

Ethiopian Airlines claims to be the first African airline to offer a direct flight from Africa to California.

Beginning June 20, the airline will begin Boeing 787 Dreamliner service between Los Angeles LAX and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with a stop in Dublin, Ireland.

The flights will depart three times a week: Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 11:45 p.m. from Los Angeles.

“Ethiopian Airlines is proud to provide the only non-stop service from Los Angeles to Dublin, as well as the shortest flying time to East Africa,” said Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group.

The airline also claims that its Los Angeles/Dublin/Addis Ababa flight is the fastest link between Los Angeles and Ireland.

To promote the new route, Ethiopian Airlines is offering fares starting from $999 round-trip to Dublin and from $1,299 to Addis Ababa. The offer applies to tickets booked before 11:59 p.m. Central Time June 30 for travel by Aug. 31.
