On Tuesday, Etihad Airways announced the increase of Airbus A380 service between New York City and Abu Dhabi in order to meet the demand from passengers traveling between the two cities.
Starting on June 1, 2017, Etihad Airways will offer upgraded service between John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City and Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates on its A380 aircraft instead of the current Boeing 777-300ER plane.
The upgraded A380 service includes The Residence-the only three-room suite available in the commercial airline industry-and nine First Apartment cabins, as well as fine culinary options cooked by an onboard chef.
In addition, the Etihad Airbus service between New York City and Abu Dhabi will feature a total of 70 Business Studios, 415 Economy Smart Seats and a lobby which includes sofas, a staffed bar and snacks throughout the flights.
"The response we have received from Etihad Airways guests traveling between Abu Dhabi and New York since we launched the service nearly a decade ago has been phenomenal, and we are delighted to further expand our world-class product for all guests traveling to and from New York," Etihad Airways CEO Peter Baumgartner said in a statement. "Our commitment to our guests has always been to be the very best airline in the world by totally reimagining the travel experience and delivering the highest levels of comfort, luxury and world-class hospitality at every point in their travel journey - on the ground and in the air - across all classes of service."
