America's sweetheart is about to become the face of a major Middle East airline.
Jennifer Aniston, fresh off her weekend wedding to Justin Theroux, has apparently signed a $5 million endorsement deal to be the new face of Emirates Airlines in a new global digital and television advertising campaign, according to the New York Post.
"We can confirm that we are working with Ms. Jennifer Aniston on a global digital and television campaign," Boutros Boutros, Emirates' divisional SVP for corporate communications, marketing and brand, told The National of Dubai. "We do not wish to discuss contract details, and more information about the campaign will be unveiled in due course."
In all likelihood, expect a backlash.
Earlier this year, Australian-born actress Nicole Kidman signed an endorsement deal with Etihad, Emirates' chief rival. Kidman, who has long lived in the U.S. and is married to country music superstar Keith Urban, was slammed by the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) for taking the gig with Emirates. The APFA alleges that Emirates has fired pregnant flight attendants and forced other female staff to work in subpar conditions.
Aniston, 46, has had a successful movie career for years but is best known for her role as Rachel Green in the NBC sitcom "Friends," which went off the air in 2004.
She is currently on her honeymoon in Bora Bora.
