Delta just kicked open the proverbial airplane door and bedazzled the cabin with a wealth of gifts. The airline just announced that it would offer its complement of in-flight entertainment for free.
Of course, in-flight entertainment remains the sole reason many of us get through long flights with any semblance of sanity.
However, there is often a finger tap-dance we all perform the second we sit in our seats, flipping through the screen's options to see what's actually offered for free.

This is how we watch and re-watch the same episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" for six hours.
Now almost all Delta flights will feature abundant, free entertainment.
Obviously, there are some airplanes not equipped for seat-back fare. The airlines states that free entertainment will be ready by July 1 on all two-class aircraft. This amounts to 90 percent of Delta's fleet, so chances are great that you will benefit.
Tim Mapes, Delta's Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, stated, "The only thing better than operating the world's largest in-flight entertainment-equipped fleet is providing it free to all our guests."
And that is exactly what this summer initiative illustrates. Mapes continued, "Our commitment is to provide Delta customers with the industry's best on-board services - period."
As for what you're getting, Delta's fleet boasts a large measure of fare to beat back the boredom: "Delta Studio offers up to 300 movies, 750 TV shows, 100 foreign film titles, 2,400 songs, 18 channels of live satellite TV on select aircraft and a selection of games on aircraft with seat-back entertainment systems."

It also welcomes Showtime and HBO shows as well as movies such as "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "The Jungle Book."
Obviously, the list of shows and movies will differ from flight to flight. But the important thing here is that you can ditch the credit card and sit back in the wondrous comfort that comes with free entertainment.
