After resuming the search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight 370 several days ago, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau has released a statement asserting that MH370 crashed into the Indian Ocean. While the ATSB could not say for certain precisely where the plane went down, they were able to narrow their search to a thin band of water and appeared confident its final resting place was along that path.
"At the request of the Malaysian Government, Australia is leading the search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370," the statement read. "All the available data indicates the aircraft entered the sea close to a long but narrow arc of the southern Indian Ocean.
"The complexities surrounding the search cannot be understated. It involves vast areas of the Indian Ocean with only limited known data and aircraft flight information. While it is impossible to determine with certainty where the aircraft may have entered the water, all the available data and analysis indicates a highly probable search area close to a long but narrow arc of the southern Indian Ocean."

Malaysia Airlines flight 370 disappeared back in March with 239 onboard.
