Condor celebrated its first flight from Frankfurt (FRA) to San Diego (SAN) California on May 1. The first flight marks the start of the USA expansion in Summer 2017, with new direct flights to San Diego, New Orleans (MSY) and Pittsburgh (PIT). The new routes expand the network to a total of 16 destinations in North America.
"We are very proud to continue our USA expansion. North America is still popular and in demand as a holiday and business destination and with eleven destinations in the USA and five in Canada, we are well-positioned here," says Ralf Teckentrup, Chairman of the Condor Board. "Our sister airline Thomas Cook Airlines UK is also expanding its US flights this summer, with a new destination from Manchester to San Francisco."
The three new Condor destinations will complement the existing North America program of the German airline in Summer 2017, adding to Austin (AUS), Baltimore/Washington (BWI), Las Vegas (LAS), Portland/Oregon (PDX), Minneapolis/Minnesota (MSP), Seattle (SEA), Anchorage (ANC), Calgary (YYC), Fairbanks (FAI), Halifax (YHZ), Toronto (YYZ), Vancouver (YVR) and Whitehorse (YXY). Condor will serve San Diego with three flights a week in the Summer of 2017, New Orleans and Pittsburgh with two.
As well as the new destinations, two new US routes are also in the summer flight plan of Germany's most popular airline. Flights will leave Munich for Las Vegas and Seattle twice a week. This will add flights from South Germany in the summer months to the year-round flight plan from Frankfurt to the two cities.
Travel from the USA to Germany and Europe is also enjoying an increase in demand. "Americans in our destination areas are also very fond of travelling and we are pleased to be able to offer them a multitude of exciting travel destinations in Europe with the new affordable Condor direct flights to Germany and our attractive airline partnerships," comments Ralf Teckentrup, discussing the Condor direct flights to Frankfurt and Munich which operates several times a week.
