South African Airways Offers 10-Year Anniversary Discount on DC Route

South African Airways, the national carrier of South Africa, is commemorating the 10-year anniversary of its inauguration of flights from Johannesburg, South Africa, to Washington D.C.-Dulles by offering a 10 percent discount on all flights from Washington D.C. Dulles International Airport to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, South Africa, and to Accra, Ghana; and Dakar, Senegal.

July 2 is the 10-year anniversary of SAA’s establishment of its Washington D.C. route, which began as a four times weekly flight and was soon expanded to daily frequency.

South African Airways has carried 1.5 million passengers on its Washington D.C.-Africa route in the past 10 years.

On Aug. 3, SAA will begin new nonstop service between Washington D.C.-Dulles and Kotoka International Airport at Accra, Ghana. The service will be operated four times a week.

The reduced fare is valid for ticketing July 1-5 and can be booked at or by calling SAA’s North America Reservation Center, at (800) 722-9675.
