TAM, a member of LATAM Airlines Group, and Iberia, both member airlines of the oneworld alliance, announce their codeshare agreement and new destination options within Europe and South America, allowing all segments to be issued on a single ticket. Starting today, tickets are available for purchase on the carriers' sales channels for flights departing as of Dec. 18.
Passengers flying TAM to Madrid, Spain can enjoy access to Barcelona, Rome, Zurich, Dusseldorf, Geneva, Tenerife, Venice, Bilbao and Asturias, using their new partner's network. Meanwhile, Iberia passengers can now discover new Brazilian destinations, such as: Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Salvador, Florianópolis, Curitiba, Manaus, Brasília, Porto Alegre and Recife.
The Group's new commercial alliance further expands its offering of destinations and now with departures from São Paulo, complements the existing agreement between Iberia and LAN on routes to Spain with departures from Chile (Santiago), Peru and Ecuador.
"Strengthening our partnership with Iberia adds important European destinations for business and tourism to our network. Likewise, it gives Europeans more and better options in Brazil," said Claudia Sender, CEO of TAM Linhas Aéreas.
TAM and Iberia share the same terminals in both São Paulo (T3) and Madrid (T4), which makes connecting flights between the carriers even easier.
"Brazil is a strategic market for Iberia, and one of our most important ones in Latin America. This agreement will allow us to offer connection alternatives other than Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, which are the destinations we serve with nonstop flights. Working in partnership with LATAM Airlines Group, we want to consolidate our position as a leader in service between Brazil and Europe," said Luis Gallego, CEO of Iberia.
As Oneworld member airlines, TAM and Iberia offer mutual benefits in their loyalty programs, which enables TAM Fidelidade members and Iberia Plus members to earn points/avios and redeem tickets when flying either airline.
