TAP Portugal’s highly rated stopover program is getting an upgrade. The airline has announced that it is enhancing the popular program to include more destinations and experiences.
“We are inviting our passengers in transit to stay and visit Portugal, now doubling the number of destinations they can discover in our country," Fernando Pinto, TAP CEO, said in a statement. “Bringing tourists to Portugal was always one of TAP’s main goals, and by extending the program to the Azores, Madeira and the Algarve, the company is further strengthening this goal.”

TAP is working with more than 150 partners to create memorable experiences for its stopover, which allows customers to stay in Portugal for 72 hours before flying on to other destinations.
Travelers receive amenities such as exclusive pricing, free Portuguese wine in restaurants and included activities that range from tuk-tuk rides to museum visits and culinary experiences.
So far, more than 40,000 passengers have taken advantage of TAP’s stopover program, which launched in August of last year.
