An intoxicated couple made quite the scene aboard a British Airways flight from Los Angeles to London on Tuesday.
According to The Sun, the British couple began screaming at each other mid-flight before attacking other passengers. One passenger said the couple had to be tied to their seats.
Crew members alerted the pilot to the chaos, prompting the cockpit to inform officials at Heathrow Airport.
The flight was met by armed police officers at Heathrow's Terminal 5. Passengers disembarked from the rear of the plane while police spoke to the unruly couple.
The woman involved reportedly sustained bruising to her face and neck.
"The couple were returning from holiday and were tanked up. They began screaming at each other and things very quickly got out of hand. It was a blazing row," British Airways said in a statement to The Sun.
"It was terrifying for all other passengers and crew to endure this obscene behavior. They were very sheepish on arrival in the U.K.," the airline added. "The welfare of our customers and crew is always our priority. Police were called to meet the aircraft following a dispute between two customers."
According to a Scotland Yard spokesman received only a warning from officers and no arrests were made.
