The airport pat-down may be a little more intimate, according to a Bloomberg report.
"The new physical touching - for those selected to have a pat-down - will be what the federal agency officially describes as a more 'comprehensive' physical screening, according to a Transportation Security Administration spokesman," reports Justin Bachman.
The searches are said to be more "rigorous" and "involve more contact" than previous pat-downs.
"I would say people who in the past would have gotten a pat-down that wasn't involved will notice that the [new] pat-down is more involved," TSA spokesman Bruce Anderson told Bloomberg.

The new procedures have been deemed necessary based on a 2015 report that states TSA officers failed to find weapons during inspections.
While the new screenings are said to be more physical, they should not create delays at airport security.
