No injuries were reported after two different U.S. Airways flights had malfunctions before landing at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina yesterday.
According to reports, (h/t CNN) Flight 745 took off from LaGuardia Airport in New York, and had to descend to 10,000 feet before landing at 7 p.m. because of an air pressure issue. The Airbus A320, with 146 passengers aboard, deployed oxygen masks.
Flight 5782, operated by regional partner Republic Airways, took off from Greensboro, North Carolina and made an emergency landing at 7:45 p.m. because of a hydraulic issue. The Embraer 175 had to be towed to an area where the 28 passengers could disembark.
TV personality Danny Lipford, a passenger on Flight 745 tweeted: "Landed in Charlotte ! Everything is cool. A few passengers are a little shaken up a bit. Crew did a great job!"
