United Airlines to Launch New Website this Summer
United Airlines is currently in the process of rolling out a new website in the hopes of providing customers with not only a new look, but added convenience.
After receiving additional customer feedback and making necessary revisions and refinements, United plans to launch the new site this summer.
In addition to taking on a more modern appearance and being easier to navigate across different devices, the Chicago-based airline's new site will boast a handful of user-friendly features, including a search function that will allow travelers to set unique filters in order to find their ideal flight. Users will be able to set a variety of flight preferences, including the type of aircraft they want to fly on, seat features and specific connection cities.
Users will also be able to find airfare and departure and arrival date combinations much faster than before.
What's more, users' search results will automatically show pricing for a 15-day window, giving customers more options and more flexibility when putting their travel plans together.
"We reimagined the flight booking experience from the ground up," said United vice president of merchandising and eCommerce Scott Wilson in a statement. "Much more than a facelift – we kept our customers' needs and preferences for personalized travel at the center of the design to offer an entirely new and improved experience altogether."
As of right now, anyone can view the website's beta version online by visiting beta.united.com.
The airline is encouraging users of the beta version to provide input on their experience:
Better. Smarter. Friendlier. Preview our new website, then join us Friday, 5/15 at 1 p.m. CT to tweetchat about it. http://t.co/fzaBTjhFX7.— United (@united) May 12, 2015
