On Wednesday, WalletHub announced its best and worst airlines list for 2016 with the hope of helping travelers prepare for the busy summer travel season.
According to the official WalletHub website, the company is helping consumers who may be able to compare prices, but aren’t necessarily capable of deciphering other options and aspects of the air travel experience.
The 2016 best and worst airlines list focuses on delays, baggage issues, pet care, passenger comfort and more. All of the aforementioned information can be instrumental when making booking decisions before a vacation.
In the overall category, Virgin America, JetBlue and Alaska Airlines topped the list of best airlines for 2016, and United Airlines, American Airlines and ExpressJet rounded out the bottom three.
As for the most reliable airlines, Delta Air Lines finished at the top of the list in terms of avoiding cancelations, delays and mishandled luggage. On the other hand, ExpressJet and Envoy Air were ranked the worst in the study.
Comfort is a huge factor in deciding which airline to use, and WalletHub found that JetBlue offers the most pleasent in-flight experience. As for the least comfortable air carriers, Spirit Airlines and Frontier Airlines were ranked at the bottom of the list.
