Delta Air Lines today introduced a new 60-second commercial aimed at business travelers who are one step closer to home when boarding the plane.
The spot takes a unique approach on all fronts. There is a very brief shot of a Delta-branded gate in the background as a businessman walks through an airport. He is then shown in various parts of his trip, including riding a hotel elevator, failing to get into his room with a keycard, giving a presentation, sitting on the edge of his hotel bed watching TV (apparently front jet leg?), and getting lost jogging while running through the city streets of what looks like Tokyo, among other quick vignettes.
In the meantime, the song "Love You" by the obscure 1960s 'sunshine pop' group The Free Design plays in the background with lyrics such as "Undo the locks and throw away the keys" and "Give a little time for the child within you."
Finally, nearly three-quarters of the way through the minute-long commercial, comes the voiceover intoning: "It's not home. But with every well-considered detail, it becomes one step closer."
