WATCH: Ryanair Flight Attendant Shocks Passengers With Announcement
Look, we all know that, statistically, flying is among the safest endeavors you can partake in, even safer than driving.
Still, it’s an experience that can be unnerving to some.
So imagine the reaction of some when a Ryanair flight attendant said in an announcement “We don’t want to die.”
True, the full announcement was a bluntly honest answer to the queries of frustrated passengers who were suffering through an eight-hour weather delay. The flight on one of Europe’s biggest budget carriers was scheduled to leave Glasgow, Scotland for Dublin, Ireland.
The flight attendant took the public address system and told the passengers, “The captain cannot take off when we have ice on the wings, and we don’t want to die.”
As you can imagine, that prompted everything from nervous laughter to one man shouting “We don’t want to f****** die, man!” to “absolute mayhem,” as passenger Ella Ryan wrote on her Instagram page, according to news.com.au.
“All hell was breaking loose when a member of staff made this outrageous announcement,” Ryan wrote, saying it “only fueled the already anxious and angry passengers.”
Ryanair told news.com.au, “We will be speaking to the crew member involved and apologise for the regrettable comment she made in the heat of the moment.”
Here is the video of the moment when the flight attendant made her announcement:
