WATCH: WestJet Safety 'Video' Gets Real

While airlines have been busy refining their game on safety videos, one airline showed that the ubiquitous safety instructions can still be a funny, theatrical experience on board even without the elaborate – and sometimes expensive – video.

In a week that saw Air New Zealand spoof “Men In Black” with another of its safety vids, and another entry from Delta Air Lines as well, it is this simple, passenger-shot video that is making the viral rounds.

As safety instructions are being conveyed via pre-recorded audio on a recent WestJet Airlines flight, a flight attendant decides to act out the procedures in hilarious fashion.

With over-the-top gestures and antics – and not a single word added to what is already being said in French – the FA brings a light moment to what is usually a monotonous part of the pre-flight experience and gets passengers to focus on the important instructions.

The video was shot by a passenger who works at a veterinary clinic in Saskatchewan and posted to Facebook.

Flying home from the  fabulous TPLO conference.... We had the best in flight crew on West Jet.  Laughed so hard. Only had a chance to video the French portion of the pre flight instructions ! Enjoy, we certainly did !Posted by'>TM'z Veterinary Clinic on Saturday, August 1, 2015
